Sometimes, when we are only obsessed with the finished product, we don’t see the diamond in the rough. Our fear of failure causes us to shun the messy, ugly process that makes sinners and idolaters champions. Our greatest failure is thinking that acknowledging the mess validates the mess, when in fact, it liberates the sinner from shame and condemnation, and the highway to redemption actually becomes wider. So to all songwriters, storytellers, screenwriters and creatives... GIVE EXPRESSION to the mess, make wide the highway to redemption, embrace the unfinished product, tell stories in ways that have never been told before, that every prodigal may have a glimpse of their place in the storyline that God is weaving. There is hope amidst the mess.
